But Trischka is more than just a master of tradition; he is the architect of modern “newgrass.” A true musical pioneer, he has fearlessly infused the banjo with elements of jazz, rock, and avant-garde experimentation, inspiring a generation that includes Béla Fleck and Steve Martin . A Grammy-nominated artist and IBMA Banjo Player of the Year, he continues to push the instrument into uncharted territory, all while running his renowned online banjo school to ensure the next generation keeps picking .
